Portland Parks & Recreation has announced that three multidisciplinary design teams, including the SWA and Great Ecology team, have been shortlisted to partake in the second stage of the open design competition for Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
With a decade of collaborative park and waterfront project experience highlighted by Hunter's Point South Waterfront Park (NY) and Ferry Point Waterfront Park (NY), SWA and Great Ecology look forward to bringing innovative ecological park designs to our first shared project on the west coast.
The transformation of Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park will enhance river access through inclusive design and ecological restoration, creating a waterfront park that reflects the city’s culture and landscape.
As the project team's ecology and sustainability consultant, Great Ecology will serve an integral role in driving shoreline restoration and resilience, native habitat design, natural resource community access and education, and much more.
