More About Justin
Justin Heyerdahl is an environmental scientist with a hybrid skillset in geographic information systems (GIS), data science, and storytelling. Justin uses spatial and non-spatial analytics to help leverage ecological processes for building resilience through design and planning projects, while also crafting compelling, data-driven narratives for stakeholder communication. With a background in landscape and quantitative ecology, Justin specializes in modeling species distribution, landscape connectivity, and climate change adaptation. Past work includes modeling forest and fire resilience in the Sierra Nevada under various vegetation management and climate scenarios. He holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management (MESM) from the Bren School at the University of California Santa Barbara, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Northwestern University, and a Certificate in Global Sustainability from the University of California Los Angeles.
