Ecology Intern

Sydney Kiser

Sydney is a recent graduate of James Madison University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Environmental Science. Her primary focus was on quantitative ecology and evolution, dedicating countless hours as a lab teaching assistant to support the education of her peers. Concurrently, she collaborated with research groups focused on botany and the study of threatened insect species, particularly butterflies.
After graduation, Sydney explored the wildlife of Washington while volunteering for various causes, including planting trees in the Elwha River Valley, leading educational field trips for children about river health, and serving as a naturalist for a nonprofit aquarium, where she taught locals about the marine life of the Pacific Northwest. Through her extensive time spent outdoors, Sydney has developed a deep passion for ecology and environmental preservation, which she is eager to share with others.
