Elias Potashov Confirmed as Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP)

Great Ecology is proud to share that Associate Ecologist Elias Potashov is now a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) by the Society of Ecological Restoration! This program "encourages a high professional standard for those who are designing, implementing, overseeing, and monitoring ecological restoration projects" and requires a combination of academic, professional, and project experience.
When asked why he pursued his certification, Elias responded:
"I pursued the certification because I greatly value the Society of Ecological Restoration for facilitating communication amongst restoration practitioners around the world. I respect their work for serving as a conduit for biologists, ecologists, engineers, planners, and technicians alike to share their cutting edge approaches and technologies, along with the many nuances pertaining to habitat restoration. Having attended a handful of SERCAL conferences and associated site visits, I know that this relatively new certification program will continue to bolster the collective struggle for refining the methods used to increase biodiversity, improve ecosystem functionality, protect natural resources, and all the other innumerable outcomes of restoration that make it such a worthwhile endeavor. And so, I am honored to be certified as an Ecological Restoration Practitioner because this firmly establishes me as part of this booming network comprised of thousands of members with partners in over 70 countries."
Congratulations Elias!
