ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION
& MITIGATION
Repairing the world through ecology

OUR FOCUS
We develop and implement habitat restoration and mitigation plans for a diverse range of habitats.
Our experience includes projects ranging in size from less than one acre to more than 4,000 acres, as well as projects that take a watershed-level view of ecological function.
Habitat Restoration
Great Ecology’s interdisciplinary team brings decades of experience designing and implementing successful restoration projects. Our deep understanding of the ecological approach sets us apart and enables us to develop restoration plans founded in, and backed by, ecological and biological sciences. We offer site-specific habitat restoration solutions including for “microenvironments” where conditions are significantly different even within the same habitat type.

Mitigation Planning
When projects unavoidably impact protected habitats or species, measures are taken to compensate the loss of ecological services - often in the form of mitigation.
Great Ecology is highly experienced in developing on-site/off-site and in-kind/out-of-kind mitigation plans for developers, energy companies, and other clients. Our team is well versed in the myriad assessments required to identify, prioritize, and permit mitigation actions.

Mitigation Banking
Mitigation banking is a system that offsets ecological loss through the creation, restoration, enhancement, or preservation of habitats via credits under regulatory guidelines.
With over 20 years of mitigation banking experience, we provide a full range of services, including feasibility assessments, marketplace assessments, financial modeling and pro forma development, along with environmental planning, permitting, site design, and construction oversight.
