Dr. Joseph (Joey) Peters is a quantitative ecologist who specializes in statistical analysis, modeling, and data visualization, particularly with understanding spatiotemporal ecological data. With over 12 years of research experience, Dr. Peters has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed publications characterizing ecological communities in kelp forests, coral reefs, seagrass meadows, and mangrove forests. As a conservation biologist, Dr. Peters has conducted investigations examining impacts from global change drivers like extreme warming, habitat loss, and overfishing on coastal ecosystems in California, Florida, the Bahamas, and French Polynesia. He has also explored the ecological effects of pharmaceutical contaminants on marine organisms in Oregon.

As an accomplished quantitative ecologist, Dr. Peters has over 10 years of experience programming statistical, spatial, and time series analyses in R.
