Ecology/GIS Intern

Ibisia Jack, MS

Ibisia brings a strong background in geospatial analysis and environmental research to her role. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Lagos, and a Master's degree in Geography with a focus on Watershed Science and GIS from San Diego State University.
Her research expertise lies in leveraging Geographic Information Science (GIS) and machine learning to map plastic debris within complex floodplain environments. This research directly contributes to the fight against riverine pollution, a critical global issue. Her skill set encompasses:
  • Machine Learning & Algorithm Development: Experience in developing and applying machine learning models and algorithms for environmental data analysis.
  • Geospatial Analysis & GIS: Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and techniques for spatial data analysis and visualization.
  • UAV & Remote Sensing Data Analysis: Experience in collecting, processing, and analyzing data acquired from UAVs and remote sensing platforms.
