Associate Coastal Ecologist

Ryan Morrison, MPS, 

CPESC-IT

Ryan has over nine years of experience in habitat restoration, water resource management and analysis, and environmental permitting. He is adept at managing and conducting various ecological assessments for a variety of habitats including wetlands, streams, oyster reefs while collaborating with engineers and scientists to develop associated restoration plans. In addition, he has experience conducting complex spatial analyses on the watershed scale comparing habitat conditions and restorability.
He brings considerable understanding of state regulatory processes and previously served as a Wetlands Analyst and Waterways Planner reviewing linear projects and conducting natural resource impact assessments for 401 Water Quality Certifications permit issue and compliance.
Ryan has previously worked for state agencies including the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, New York City Dept. of Parks & Recreation, and the US Forest service in addition to his time with the nonprofit Billion Oyster Project. He is a Certified Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control in-Training (CPESC-IT) and has a Certificate in Stormwater Management.
He holds a BS in Wildlife Biology and a Minor in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from Unity College. As well as an M.P.S in Ecological Engineering from SUNY Environmental Science & Forestry.
