Habitat Restoration Planning
Great Ecology serves as the ecological expert assessing the ecological impact of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) on Maryland's natural resources. We are currently conducting extensive desktop-based impact assessments to understand the ecological service losses resulting from PCB contamination in aquatic resources – bays, wetlands, rivers, streams, lakes, ponds – and the associated population decline of marine and freshwater aquatic organisms. Results of these studies will be used to inform models that quantify the habitat restoration effort needed to offset impacts.
