Great Ecology developed a Burrowing Owl Avoidance & Mitigation Plan, approved by California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW), for Cyrq Energy to allow construction of a planned facility to proceed in the event burrowing owls are present onsite during nesting season. The plan characterizes potential impacts from construction activities and details mitigation measures to minimize disturbance through the implementation of appropriate buffers, visual screens, and/or other measures. Further elements include a plan for burrowing owl burrow exclusion and/or passive relocation procedures to be implemented as needed outside of burrowing owl nesting season when avoidance and/or minimization is not feasible.
