Qidong City Ecological Planning

Great Ecology joined the PLAT Studios master planning team for conceptual and schematic design of the Qidong “Key East” Development in Nantong, Jiangsu Province in China, 87 KM from Shanghai and adjacent to the Yuantoujiao Tourism Resort. The project site is a large oceanfront wetland and cattle pasture area that will be the site of a future large city with a heavy emphasis on ecological planning and green infrastructure. Components of the master plan will include a “wetland wellness center;” several ecoparks featuring wetland habitat walking trails; a sponge city strategy; a seagrass wetland park; and numerous other ecological amenities woven into the city. Great Ecology provided ecological consultation for habitat restoration, green space design, and sustainable green infrastructure features to PLAT Studios before the project was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
