Great Ecology supported Matrix New World Engineering in conducting wetland delineations for a proposed pipeline project in Louisiana. The work was completed in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) guidelines to identify jurisdictional wetlands and waters of the United States along the proposed alignment.
Great Ecology biologists conducted daily wetland delineations, which included field assessments to document indicators of wetland presence and boundaries by characterizing vegetation, soils, and hydrology within the project corridor. Trimble GPS units were used to enhance spatial accuracy during data collection and mapping. Daily QA/QC of this field data was completed to facilitate GIS integration and analysis by the desktop mapping team.
